Composing and Organizing Language Services
نویسنده
چکیده
Web service has gained its popularity in the past decade and emerged as a great impact on both industrial and research. The visionary promise of delivering dynamic creation of loosely coupled information system is almost into reality. This vision is called services computing. One of the wide implementations of Web services is language service. The number of language service available on the Web is inevitably increasing. Computer scientists collaborated with computational linguistics have been trying to develop more and more language services. When a new idea is proposed in services computing, it usually provides not enough detail of a domain used as a business case. It inspires us to look into particular service domain that can be later abstracted to other service domains. In this thesis, we describe our contributions to language services. We enhance the two basic parts in services computing, service composition and organization; and apply these to language services. There are some other elements in services computing, such as service monitoring and interfacing, but we believe that these two elements are the most crucial ones for language services. In service discovery, a preliminary process of service composition, we aim at providing a quantitative means of specifying the extent to which a provided service meets the requirements of a user’s request. This is important because it allows us to return a finer level of granularity in discovering language services. With the boom of language services, semantic similarity plays important role in discriminating services based on the language service ontology.

Brokering Based Self Organizing E-Service Communities
The rapid evolution of the Internet and its business tools is enabling the transformation and deployment of business processes as highly modular e-services that can be flexibly and dynamically composed to form ad-hoc workflow. This research prepares for the proliferation of automated, Internet-based workflow, by contributing a suite of protocols for self-organizing brokering communities that en...
متن کاملComposing Active Services in NetScript
NetScript is a high-level programming language and environment for developing active network services and protocols. Programs written in NetScript can be deployed in nodes of an active network to dynamically extend their functions as needed. This paper presents an overview of NetScript and describes the three forms of composition that it supports: 1) composing active elements to form new protoc...
متن کاملA Probe into Adaptive Transfer across Writing Contexts: A Case of an EGAP Class
In an effort to expand the disciplinary discussions on transfer in L2 writing and because most studies have focused on transfer as reuse and not as an adequate adaptation of writing knowledge in new contexts, the present study as the first of its kind aimed to explore the issue of adaptive transfer in an English for General Academic Purposes (EGAP) writing course. The study thus focused on type...
متن کاملComposing Human and Machine Translation Services: Language Grid for Improving Localization Processes
With the development of the Internet environments, more and more language services become accessible for common people. However, the gap between human translators and machine translators remains huge especially for the domain of localization processes that requires high translation quality. Although efforts of combining human and machine translators for supporting multilingual communication hav...
متن کاملA model-driven approach for composing SAWSDL semantic Web services
Composing Web services is a convenient means of dealing with complex requests. However, the number of Web services on the Internet is increasing. This explains the growing interest in composing Web services automatically. Nevertheless, the Web services’ semantics is necessary for any dynamic composition process. In this article, we present an MDA approach to develop and compose SAWSDL semantic ...
